ANIS
Anis is a most welcoming community of Curarén with lots of spirit. Though this is a poor community, the only thing the people have ever asked for is a guitar. Needless to say, the Red Lantern Foundation bought that for them. The people of this community are unique among the more than 87 churches of our parish, for this is the only community that greets the priest with music and escorts him to the church (Our Lady of Guadalupe) for Mass. Next to their church sits a kitchen where women prepare dinners for special occasions, such as the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12. Anis also has the most unusual landscape of all the places of the parish – giant black rocks, a snow-white road, pines and palms and cacti, and breathtaking mountain views.
